Lynda Lee Hart, Age :72

Oct 15,1945---Jul 01,2018

Lynda Lee Hart, age 72, of Kansas City, MO, passed away at North Care Hospice House on July 1st, 2018 from metastasized colon cancer.  Born October 15, 1945 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to Charles and Betty Richards, she was the oldest of ten children.

Family and close friends were an important part of Lynda’s life. She loved the people she was close to and spent much of her life caring for and supporting them. At the same time, her life was one of both a maverick and an autodidact. She was an avid reader who devoured books! As a high school student she was a Mensa member. She was always learning and had a proclivity for vocabulary. One of her favorite pastimes was completing crossword puzzles.

Prior to retirement Lynda was passionate about her work as an online ESL teacher.  She quickly became enamored with the lives and stories of those she touched through her work. Every day brought new joy as she helped her learners master the English Language.

Lynda is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Cindy (James) Dedert of Kansas City, MO and Pepper (Kevin) Moore of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Raven Moore, Ivy Moore, Samuel Dedert, and RJ Dedert.  Lynda adored her grandchildren. Spending time in deep conversation with each was indeed a highlight of her life. Surviving siblings are Bruce Richards, Cynthy Singletary, Mary Lou Collins, Charles Richards, Jeff Richards, and David Richards as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, James Carl Hart Jr., her son James Carl Hart III, her parents Charles and Betty Richards and brothers, Ronald, Greg, and Vernon.

Special thanks to Dr. Michael Shinn for his decades of care, Dr. Venkatadri Beeki and the staff at KC Hospice. A private ceremony will be held to honor Lynda’s life.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Midwest Transplant Network, 1900 West 47th Place, Suite 400, Westwood, KS 66205
