Cleaster Moncure, age 83, Leawood, KS passed away Sunday, July 1st, 2018 at home from natural causes.  Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 7th, 1:00pm at Soka Gakkai International - Kansas City, 1804 Broadway Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64108.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Soka Gakkai International (sgi-usa.org) or Unleashed Pet Rescue (http://www.unleashedrescue.com/donate/).  Born on November 17, 1934 in Lake Providence, LA she grew up in Oakland, California and attended McClymonds High School.  She continued her education in Annapolis, Maryland receiving her nursing degree. She worked at UCLA Medical Center where one of her notable patients was Walt Disney.  She retired from Brookside Memorial in San Pablo, California.  Later in life she pursued a second career in real estate.    She married Wille B. Moncure and they had one son together, Michael.  She opened her home many times over the years to refugees and those less fortunate.  She was involved in SGI and played a leadership role in the Oakland Police Department's Neighborhood Watch Group.  Her hobbies included gardening, opera and mentoring young people.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father Reuben & Lee Ann Randle; brothers Reuben & Theodore Randle; nephew Joseph Randle and brother-in-law Carl Hansert.  She is survived by son Michael Moncure and wife Jennifer; grandchildren Arielle, Michael, Joshua and Alyssa Moncure; Sister Maxine Hansert; Sisters-in-law Shirley & Mary Randle, Bobbie & Mary Harris and Willie Mae Moncure; brother-in-law Lonnie Harris; Nephews Ashton & Erik Randle, Keith Moncure, Dino Parker and Anthony Harris; Niece Devivier Parker and her beloved, loyal companion Dulce.
